How do I start the training process?
To begin the training process, please reach out to us through the contact form on our website, or give us a call or email. We'll schedule a complimentary phone consultation to discuss the best program tailored for your dog.
Which program is suitable for me and my dog?
Choosing the right program for your dog depends on several factors including age, training history, and behavioural needs. During your consultation, we'll help determine the most suitable program for your dog's specific requirements.
What is the duration of the programs?
The duration of our programs varies as each one is customised to meet your dog’s individual needs. Our pet consultants will discuss the program length with you during your initial consultation, which is free of charge.
Where will my dog stay during training?
Dogs stay in the certified trainer's homes where they have access to ample exercise, treats, toys, and dedicated training and care.
What training methods do you use?
Tail Tales Academy exclusively uses positive reinforcement methods. Your dog will be trained using rewards such as treats, toys, and plenty of affection.
What are the costs associated with training?
Training costs are based on the length of the program. Your pet consultant will provide detailed pricing information during your initial phone consultation.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, we offer convenient payment plans in partnership with KLARNA and Affirm to make our programs accessible and manageable for our clients.
Will there be post-training homework?
Yes, continuing training at home is crucial for achieving the best results. Our trainers will provide you with homework and tips to support your dog's ongoing progress after they return home.
What does lifetime support entail?
Upon completing a program, you and your dog become part of the Tail Tales family. We offer lifetime support, including monthly sessions available to all clients. Booking is simple - just give us a call. This support is free and unlimited.
How will I receive updates about my dog's progress?
Throughout the program, your trainer will communicate daily through WhatsApp, providing updates on your dog's progress and sharing their achievements.
What vaccinations are required for my dog?
Before training begins, your dog must have current vaccinations including DHLPP, Bordatella, and Rabies. Ensuring your dog's vaccinations are up-to-date maintains a safe and healthy training environment.
What preparations should I make before training?
A week before your program starts, you'll receive a packing list that includes necessary items, any required medications for your dog (if applicable), and essential toiletries to prepare for training.
Will the training carry over when my dog comes home?
Yes. Your trainer runs a handover session with you, gives you a report card and homework, and stays available for follow-up support, so your dog keeps the same habits at home.
What's included in a Board & Train program?
Pick-up and drop-off, daily WhatsApp updates, three training videos a week, report cards, a graduation certificate and lifetime support.
How does online training work?
Live video sessions with a Tail Tales trainer, at home with your dog. You'll need a phone or laptop with a camera, some treats and a little space to work.
Does my dog need to be there for online sessions?
Yes, for most sessions, so your trainer can coach you live. Some sessions, like the first consultation, can be with you only.
How do I stop my dog barking or pulling on walks?
